Furuno GP-90 GPS WAAS system is a perfect option for SOLAS carriage requirements as a stand alone GPS device as well as sensor for Automatic Identification System, Radar and Voyage Data Recorder, etc.
Furuno GP-90 GPS WAAS Navigator is designed according to SOLAS ships compliance requirements with keeping in mind the new GPS performance standard IMO Res MSC.112(73) and associated IEC standards requirements applicable on and after 1st July 2003. This marine GPS / WAAS model GP-90 by Furuno is a highly accurate and reliable standalone EPFS – Electronic Position-Fixing System, which provides complete navigation solution to the AIS, Radar and Voyage Data Recorder and other equipment.
Improved receiver dependability by fault detection using five satellites, i.e., Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (RAIM). It shows the integrity status in Safe, Caution, or Unsafe label. These indications are given corresponding to the accuracy level, 10 m or 100 m. RAIM also works on DGPS signals as chosen by the user.
Various display modes to choose from:
User can choose from various display modes available like VideoPlotter, Text, Highway, etc. The highway mode provides insight to the user on how to steer and where the next way-point is located relative to the ship. This could be very useful while following series of way-points along a route plan.
WAAS receiver of Furuno GP-90 improves the position accuracy and DGPS with an internal or external differential receiver is optionally available.
It comprises of a LCD display and an antenna unit. The display is a 6 inch silver bright LCD which gives optimal viewing under hard sunlight. Backup or remote operation feasibility to ensure system availability by dual configuration with a second system.
