Furuno FA-150 is well equipped with FA-1501 Class A Universal Automatic Identification System transponder which improves the safety of the ships at sea to many folds by observing other ships installed with AIS system. This AIS model by Furuno complies with international maritime laws like IMO, ITU-R, IEC and national class requirements. FA-150 is capable of own ship data exchange in real-time as well as of other AIS installed ships and coastal stations within VHF range. Vital data that is exchanged includes static, dynamic, voyage data, and short safety-related messages. The internal GPS receiver of this system provides UTC reference for the system synchronization. It can provide position, COG, and SOG without requiring external positioning equipment.
